Your Community Oasis, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to provide supportive housing services to young adults that age out of the foster care system or are experiencing homelessness in Texas. Our mission is to provide safe, stable and spiritual growth for each young adult that crosses our threshold. We are committed to ensuring that these young individuals have the resources and opportunities necessary to successfully transition into independent adulthood. We aim to create a caring and inclusive community that empowers and equips them towards a brighter future.
The Oasis Program
Our program offers a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on 3 categories: personal development, life skills, and college and career pathways. We aim to empower our residents to achieve independence and success as they transition into adulthood. Through supportive housing and tailored education and support services, we strive to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty for these young adults.
Mental Health Empowerment
The Oasis Program provides young adults access to a variety of resources and services designed to promote mental wellness and empowerment. This includes individual and group therapy sessions with contract licensed therapists and social workers, workshops on coping mechanisms and self-care practices, and connections to appropriate mental health professionals in the community.
Life Skills and Personal Development
The Oasis Program helps young adults gain essential life skills such as budgeting, time management, cooking, gaining important documents, and taking care of home. We offer workshops on financial literacy, resume building, interview skills, and job search strategies to help them secure stable employment. Our experienced counselors provide one-on-one support to address individual needs and goals, helping them develop a personalized plan for success.
College and Career Pathways
The Oasis Program provides comprehensive support that equips the young adults with both educational advancement and career development. Through a combination of educational workshops, personalized career guidance, and access to resources such as tutoring and job placement services, participants in this program are equipped with the tools they need to achieve their academic and professional goals.
